"Great tools that are very well-made and versatile."

January 12, 2009

I currently use the flex combination wrenches in both sae and metric on a daily basis repairing heavy equipment and machinery as an industrial mechanic. They are great tools that are very well-made and versatile. I can access any nut/bolt with these wrenches and the ratcheting mechanism never slips. Thanks for making outstanding wrenches that increase my productivity and make my job a whole lot easier.

"Your new roto-ratchet is one of the best innovations in ratchet design I've come accross."

October 26, 2008

Your new roto-ratchet is one of the best innovations in ratchet design I've come across. After I purchased mine at Sears and showed a couple friends and relatives many of them purchased their own. We all know how difficult it is to access fasteners in today's newer cramped engine compartments. This ratchet and many of your tools I own make the job so much easier. Keep up the good work.

"Gearwrench enables us to keep our racecars running no matter what the competition throws at us."

December 09, 2008

As the only tool supplier we use, Gearwrench enables us to keep our racecars running no matter what the competition throws at us. From our SPEED World Challenge  BMW pro cars to my personal car with which we were able to take the overall win in the SCCA "Charge of the Headlight Brigade" 13-hour endurance race, Gearwrench gives us the tools to achieve maximum performance in any situation. The XL and GearBox wrenches, the Rotating-Head Prybars, and the full line of rachets and sockets never get a rest at our shop or near our trailer.

"I just wanted to say how much I love GearWrench products."

March 17, 2008

I just wanted to say how much I love GearWrench products.  I work as a technician at a Chrysler/Jeep dealership and we have sales reps from Snap-On, Cornwell, Mac and SK come to our shop every week trying to sell tools. I have bought some from Snap-On because of their reputation.  But after comparing their tools to my GearWrench tools, I really like your tools better- the design, durability, and the price.  Needless to say I don't buy from Snap-On anymore.

"I've used numerous types of wrenches but your's are by far the best!"

May 25, 2007

I am a technician at Mercedes Benz. I've used numerous types of wrenches but your's are by far the best! The new X-Beam wrenches have made my hands and work easier. No more fatigue when pushing...wonderful. I can't thank you enough. I hope that there will be more new innovations that can help us technicians get our work done easier.

"...Makes for a good amount of extra money in my pocket."

February 6, 2007

First of all I would like to say I love your products! I had to replace a fuel pump on a diesel the other day and figured I would try it without pulling the turbo, would not have been able to without your Double X Pliers-makes for a good amount of extra money in my pocket. Thanks!!!

"I've seen grown men drool over my GearWrench tools."

December 15, 2006

I do a lot of automotive work on the side, I own many of your products and intend to own many more. The quality and innovation of your products can not be matched. I own the pass-thru socket set, serpentine belt set and 4 ratcheting wrench sets thus far. All of these products make difficult jobs so much easier. I will continue to add your great products to my collection just as fast as I can sneak them by the wife.

P.S. Many friends and relatives have purchased your products after seeing them in action in my garage. I've seen grown men drool over my GearWrench tools.

"So keep up the good work. You gear people got me hooked...."

September 21, 2006

I bought the GearWrench Pass-Thru Ratchet (GearRatchet) set last month at Sears in Brooklyn Center, MN. The set that I bought is GearRatchet & Vortex Socket System 1/4" and 3/8" drives with standard and metric sockets. I used them a few times for my maintenance job and they are great tools to do some special jobs that the regular and deep sockets can't do as I like the Pass-Thru Ratchet and sockets that I don't need deep sockets anymore to do very special jobs. So keep up the good work. You gear people got me hooked so i can buy more GearWrench tools in future.

"Thank You!!! for great tools... Keep it up guys...."

August 8, 2006

I am a mechanic of 10 yrs. Let me just say todays vehicles are much smaller and very compact.  Much more so than the older models that are more spacious to work on.  I have owned many tools.  Since trying GearWrench products, I wouldn't have any other. They make the tight places much easier.  I have a question: What would todays mechanic use to get to tough to reach transmission bolts?? An older boxed in wrench or the GearWrench ratcheting wrench?? I dont know about anyone else.. But I would rather have the GearWrench.. Not to mention the Customer service is awesome.  I had a set of wrenches purchased for me as a gift and part of the set was missing.  GearWrench had the missing items to me in a matter of a short time.. Thank You!!! for great tools... Keep it up guys....

"...Good tools don't cost money, good tools make money..."

August 2, 2006

I never liked the traditional laminated ratcheting box wrench design. With its large ratchet angle and flat uncomfortable grip it has a clunky non-ergonomic feel to it, and the open mechanism is prone to accumulating dirt and debris. The design has been around forever, and that's the problem - it's old-fashioned and outdated.

The GearWrench ratcheting  wrench is a 21st century tool. It has the comfortable full-polish finish of a premium quality wrench, and its 5 degree ratchet angle and enclosed mechanism provide access and performance that other wrenches just can't match. It's the original and still the best in terms of quality and value.

Now more than ever, it's a tough world out there, and you need an edge to stay ahead. Time is money, and GearWrench saves you both with its ever-expanding range of high productivity ratcheting hand tools. They provide the speed and access you need to get the job done fast and right. As someone said to me years ago, good tools don't cost money, good tools make money.

Nobody else offers as many tool patterns as GearWrench, or in as many sizes. Stubby, regular length, extra long. Combination, reversible, flex, locking flex, and how about those half-moon and S-shaped obstruction wrenches? The sizes run all the way from 1/4 to 1-1/4", and 6-32 mm. That covers anything I'm likely to see.

I don't have every GearWrench set (yet), but I'm working on it. I have several sets of SAE tools at work for MRO and fabrication projects, and both SAE and metric sets at home for DIY and vehicle repair, respectively. I was initially a bit concerned about tool failure if I really "got on" a tool, but it hasn't happened yet, and I doubt it will now given how much I have used them. I know others you use these tools extensively as well, and no one I know has experienced a tool failure.

Check out the innovative GearRatchet sets too. With the through-bolt open Vortex socket design, you can just about forget the traditional socket and ratchet systems, and the need for deep sockets.for access to extended bolts and threaded rods. They've also just added sets to cover the 1/2" drive ranges for SAE and metric.

I bought the 40-piece GearDriver 8940 screwdriver set a while ago, and with its many interchangeable shafts and handles, one ratcheting screwdriver set can really do it all.

Now they've come out with a GearWrench tap and die set. What will they think of next? Have to wait and see.

"These are always my first pick in my tool trailer for strength, speed and ease of use & reach..."

July 16, 2006

I bought a Vortex master set just after they first came out a few years ago in my area and thought they would be a good novelty for tight places on these modern cars and trucks as well as older vehicles. I have since found they take more torque with less slipping than anything else in my set of tools. I now own the master nutdriver set, both SAE and Metric master vortex sets, as well as the serpentine belt tool that doubles as a great breaker bar, and an SAE and Metric set of original ratcheting wrenches. These are always my first pick in my tool trailer for strength, speed, and ease of use & reach. Keep up your great work and thanks tremendously!

"You can't put a price on how much time they save and how much easier GearWrench products make jobs..."

July 10, 2006

I work for a large package handling company where you get 15 minutes to repair something when it fails (after 15 it's a breakdown). Quite frankly, GearWrench products have saved me more often than not when time and money are on the line and I'm the one they are looking to in order to get things done. You can't put a price on how much time they save and how much easier GearWrench products make jobs. Almost nothing is better to have in your hands when time is money. I intend on buying the SAE locking flex head set soon.

"They save time and money and should be considered to  be added to all tool inventory's minimum tool/equipment list..."

June 22, 2006

Don Boring

GearWrench is an absolute must in the Aerospace industry. I use my wrenches everyday and really don't know how people including myself ever did work on aircraft without them. We are an overhaul facility for 727's, 737's, 757's, 767's, A300's and I suppose whatever else we can get contracts for. I like them so much I became a distributor for them. They save time and money and should be considered to be added to all tool inventory's minimum tool/equipment list. With a 1/4, 5/16, 11/32, 3/8, 7/16 and a 1/2 inch wrench the above aircraft can almost be disassembled. Two thumbs up for GearWrench.

June 5, 2006

I found your GearWrench tools when I was in the USA. I bought a set of spanners (the ratcheting ones) and was very pleased by the smooth look, price and quality. As a restorer of British sportscars. I use them all the time. I'm addicted to them. Truly an outstanding product!!!

"It's another miracle!!.."

June 1, 2006

Recently, I had to take 3 13mm nuts from a caulking gun. With my GearWrench all I had to do was put the wrench on the nut and apply force. It's another miracle!!

Now I am thinking that I could use my gearwrench on other nuts when needed.

"My GearWrench products have saved time and effort in getting unarmored humvees and other mission essential equipment back in the fight..."

May 19, 2006

Currently, I am in Iraq serving with the TN National Guard. I am a wheeled vehicle mechanic and we are tasked with supporting a large number of vehicles in our area of operation. I had my GearWrench sent to me after the first week I was here. I have a 8pc. SAE and 8pc. Metric set of combination wrenches. My GearWrench products have saved time and effort in getting unarmored humvees and other mission essential equipment back in the fight. Your products are top of the line! I have been a mechanic in the guard for seven years and for five years in my civilian job. There is not a better wrench in my book than GearWrench (ratcheting wrenches). I look forward to more fine tools.

"Nothing in my tool box is used more than my ratcheting wrenches..."

May 2006

Hello, my name is Jeremiah and I am a maintenance mechanic in a large blow molding factory. Three years ago I purchased both the metric and standard reversible ratcheting combination wrenches .

Nothing in my tool box is used more than my ratcheting wrenches. I use them at least half a dozen times a night . I have accidentally dropped them from off the tops of some of our machines (which are twenty five feet high) more than once with absolutely no damage, whereas I have witnessed a Snap-on ratcheting combination wrench take the same fall only to have the retaining spring and the selector switch fly out of the wrench.

In the past three years, in spite of the amount of abuse that my wrenches have been subjected too, I have only had one fail. It was my 1/2 inch combination. When I called about the replacement, the operator was friendly and the replacement arrived within two days which was fantastic because my 1/2 inch is a commonly used wrench.

In the plant where I work, there are a dozen maintenance guys and we all have some form of ratcheting combination wrenches. I have had a chance to test out all the major brands but none of the other companies have the winning combination. The lip on the box end really stands out.

Thank you for a great product, it makes my job ten times easier and faster.

"With the GearRatchet sets, we have saved money on our shipping cost because we no longer have to ship stander depth and deep well sockets..."

March 15, 2006

I am a Project Manager for a technical service. We do Automotive, Tire And Component Evaluation. We have been using GearWrench Brand Tools for a little over a year now. When we travel we have to ship our tools to the fleets where we are doing a field evaluation project. With the GearRatchet sets, we have saved money on our shipping cost because we no longer have to ship stander depth and deep well sockets. We have saved time by using the GearRatchet sets because we never have to stop and change the socket from a stander to a deep well socket. GearRatchet has eliminated our need to buy deep well sockets.

"The engines I work on are two stories high and 150 feet long..."

February 21, 2006

Dear GearWrench,

You guys must be real gear heads to design such great wrenches. I have been a powerhouse mechanic for 15 years. The engines I work on are two stories high and 150 feet long. It burns 10,000 gallons of fuel a day. Your wrenches have taken the abuse of a 4500 horse power engine and have cut my work time in half. Keep up the good work.

"What do I do with my GearWrench? An easier question is "What don't I do with my GearWrench ratcheting wrenches?.."

February 13, 2006

What do I do with my GearWrench? An easier question is "What don't I do with my GearWrench ratcheting wrenches?

I purchased my first set while working for Portola Packaging, Inc. as a field service engineer. I am a Chemical Engineer from Oklahoma State University, 1983. My first set was the straight, flat style. I added the stubby set to this set, also. I loved them. The only draw back was no off set on gear head to get your knuckles away from the work.

My third and fourth sets were the Ace Hardware sets that included 1/4 and 3/8 ratchet sets, screw drivers, nut drivers, Allen, and square drivers. What a great set all the way around. Compact and had almost everything I needed in one small package.

I found the off set set. What a great find. This set was fantastic. I am in love now. This set had the collar so that the wrench stayed on the nut when I was working on threaded rods. I tried to replace this set into my Ace set but the collar would not allow the ratchet adapter to work.

The sixth and seventh sets were the off set without the collar. I replaced the units in my Ace sets with these guys. I now have the perfect setup.

My eighth set will be the off set stubby. I do not use these often but that may be because they do not have the off set.

What else do I do with my GearWrench (products). I rebuilt an engine in my garage for a friend. We used my wrenches on most phases of the project. Car runs great.

I no longer work for Portola Packaging, Inc. I am in the process of building a manufacturing plant with a friend of mine. He and I have mortgaged everything in order to get this company started. We should be in production in the middle of March, 2006. We have one brand new blow molding machine set up and 2 more that will be delivered by the end of Feb 2006.

We will be producing 90,000,000 8oz bottles per year, 34,000,000 half gallon bottles per year, and 22,000,000 gallon bottles per year. These bottles are targeted for the dairy, water, and juice markets.

As we finish up our construction and we start building our maintenance department I plan on GearWrench (products) in each and every tool box. But not just one set either. The one thing I have learned is to make sure you have the right tool for the right job for ease of use and speed of repair. Time will always be money in manufacturing.

Feb 12, 2006

First of all, I must say that this is one of the best tool purchases I have ever made. I am a maintenance tech. in a factory and use these tools everyday. I love these wrenches. I currently have the SAE and Metric 8 piece sets, and also the 21 piece socket set. But plan on getting XL swivel heads also.

Thanks in advance,

"I use the set at work every day and although I have another set of the other guys in my toolbox and a set of sockets, neither one sees much use..."

D AkinI would tell anyone who wanted to know, and I have, what a great product they are.

I am in the maintenance dept. at an auto parts manufacturing plant and when I first got into the dept., I bought the standard Craftsman wrenches. Then I saw your wrenches at an Ace Hardware store and liked the looks of them. At first I was skeptical as I had used the old style "geared wrenches" and found them to be of poor quality. I debated on purchasing them for quite a while and finally decided that I would buy my first set.

I have never been sorry and since then I have purchased 5 more different (GearWrench) sets, from the large set that goes up to 1", a metric set, a stubby set, a set for my father, and a set for home. As I have said, I use the set at work every day and although I have another set of the other guys in my toolbox and a set of sockets, neither one sees much use.

My fellow maintenance men have seen mine and now I think just about all of them have at least one set. On another note, just to let everyone know, I myself am 6'6" and weight 300lbs and can put quite a lot of pressure on a wrench and I have never had one of my GearWrench (ratcheting wrenches) slip or give any trouble. I plan on purchasing the 1 1/16,1 1/8, 1 1/4 inch wrenches in the very near future and the tap and die as soon as I can get a hold of it. As I see them coming in very handy in my day to day job. One of my fellow team members has ordered the above three wrenches today and is looking forward to getting them soon. I have signed up for the newsletter will be watching for your new products.

Keep up the quality products!

"..you guys have given me the edge when it comes down to working on the car day in and day out..."

I just wanted to start off by saying that I love your company and what they are about. I am constantly thinking of how much I owe them for coming out with such excellent lines of products. I am a number one fan and now I only buy GearWrench. When it comes to buying the best equipment out there, you guys have given me the edge when it comes down to working on the car day in and day out.

"I will not be buying any more over-priced wrenches as I find your product to actually feel better in my hand and also just as reliable..."

I am a mechanic of 20 years. I have always, since starting work from school, purchased Snap-On wrenches.
I was given a set of "GearWrench" SAE and Metric wrenches as a birthday gift this year and I have to say I love them. I have since purchased another set of half moon wrenches and they are just as good. I have recommended your wrenches to every other friend of mine in the same trade and some have taken my advice and purchased "GearWrench" and also been pleased. I will not be buying any more over-priced wrenches as I find your product to actually feel better in my hand and also just as reliable.

Thanks for great sensibly priced wrenches.

"..after looking closely at them it was immediately apparent that some forethought and quality engineering went into them.."

I have been a diehard Snap-On tool fan for over 22 years now. I recently ran into a situation that I needed a 5/16" tool that ratcheted, had a length of about 6" and that didnt fall off the fastener like sockets tend to do when your work space is only 2" wide - leverage was at a premium (as many aircraft mechanics have found). I had nothing in my box that would work so I asked one of my co-workers if he had anything that might work. He showed me a new set of GearWrench (ratcheting wrenches) that he had purchased. My first thought was, "oh boy another "Globemaster" or "as seen on T.V. special" that I am going to bust my knuckles with". But, after looking closely at them it was immediately apparent that some forethought and quality engineering went into them. So I borrowed the 5/16" box end and it performed exactly as I needed.

Since then I have bought my own set of GearWrench (ratcheting wrenches) and have used them more than my Snap-On tools. I have seen that Snap-On, Craftsman and others have came out with their version of "Ratcheting Wrench" but I am not as impressed as I am with the "GearWrench" brand.

Thank you very much!

"I am a mechanic for The Boeing Company restoring Apache AH-64's..."

I use the 11 piece ratcheting combination wrenches. It reduces time & fatigue normally associated with removing the boxed end of the wrench as opposed to just back & forth.

I am a mechanic for The Boeing Company restoring Apache AH-64s. While I have been an aircraft mechanic for over 13 years, I have come to see many Too Good to be True Tools. These are definately worth their weight in Gold.
