The GearWrench™ Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Socket earned a 2006 MOTOR Magazine "Top 20 Tools" award. The announcement appeared in the September 2006 issue. Introduced in winter 2006, the Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Socket System allows easy removal of hot, rounded and difficult-to-reach drain plugs. Specially designed sockets feature a magnetic core that holds the drain plug fast and prevents the plug from falling into the drain pan during use.
