Gearwrench® Launches New Product Category With the Introduction of Indexing Pry Bars at SEMA 2007

Designed to provide users with greater access and leverage in tight spaces, the new Indexing Pry Bar offers more than 180 degrees of angle.  Available in six sizes ranging from 8” to 33” in length, the head of the pry bar can be adjusted to 14 different locking positions.prybar

The 8” Indexing Pry Bar works great as a seal pick for removing engine and axle drive seals. The 24” and 33” pry bars both have grooved bottom surfaces for added traction.  In addition to the fixed length Indexing Pry Bars, an expandable version is available that extends from 18” to 29” and features the 14 position indexing head.

Also Announced at SEMA 2007… GearWrench Extends Ratcheting Wrenches and Hand Tool Line

Recognized for developing the patented 5-degree ratcheting mechanism, GearWrench now will offer X-Beam™ Reversible and X-Beam Flex Ratcheting Wrenches. X-Beam Reversible offers a reversible lever that allows users to alternate from loosening to tightening motions without flipping the wrench over. The unique 15-degree offset provides clearance for users’ hands. The X-Beam Flex features a flex hinge on the box end of the wrench allowing users to adjust the offset angle when working in tight spaces.

Quadbox™
In 2006, GearWrench introduced the 4-in-1 Quadbox ratcheting wrench, the hand tool industry’s first 5-degree ratcheting wrench with four different sizes on a single wrench.  QuadBox fits into tight spaces and helps speed and productivity. 4in1

The set of two QuadBox wrenches replaces up to eight traditional combination wrenches. This fall, GearWrench expanded the line by adding one additional SAE wrench and two additional metric wrenches.  Users now have the option of 12 SAE sizes or 16 metric sizes in just three or four easy-to-carry wrenches.

Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench
The new Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench from GearWrench is designed for the unique needs of technicians in the heavy truck, industrial, agricultural and petrochemical industries where larger size wrenches are commonly required.  The “jumbo” size range will cover 1-7/16” to 2” in SAE and from 36mm to 50mm in Metric.

Gearwrench® Combines Best of Ratcheting and Box-End Features in New Longer, Stronger Wrench

Earlier this year, GearWrench® announced GearBox™, a new wrench that is 40 percent longer than standard wrenches on the market. GearBox allows greater access to difficult fasteners as well as increased leverage.  Designed for both automotive and industrial gearprofessionals, GearBox’s zero-degree offset design translates into maximum torque applied to the fastener. GearBox combines the best ratcheting and box-end wrench features in one product. The 90-degree box end of GearBox gives a technician the access and strength required to reach recessed fasteners, which are common in production machine repair and maintenance applications, and counterbores.  The ratcheting end features a 5-degree arc for maximum speed and productivity.

Gearwrench® Products Receive Prestigious Industry Honor

GearWrench continues to impress Professional mechanics and DIY consumers alike with its groundbreaking X-Beam™ Ratcheting Wrench. id1The ergonomic wrench design recently received two additional honors --a Bronze award from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and an honorable mention from International Design (I.D.) magazine.

In addition to those in the design community, X-Beam continues to be popular among automotive technicians and was recently named a top-five favorite tool by TechShop magazine.

Motor magazine echoed the pxbeamroduct’s praise by naming X-Beam a preferred tool in the magazine’s annual Top 20 Tools feature. Lastly, GearWrench’s Double-X Pliers received an honorable mention from Handy magazine as part of their Innovation Awards contest.

GearWrench Helps to Build a Dream Home

Three Money Pit Listeners Win 4-in-1 QuadBox

Three lucky listeners of the nationally-syndicated “Money Pit” home improvement radio program received GearWrench’s 4-in-1 QuadBox™ Ratcheting Wrenches in October.   The three contest-winners all reside in New Jersey-  Pauline Smith of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; Terry Becker of Towaco, NJ; John Cook of Spotswood, NJ.

The show hosts, Tom and Leslie, commended GearWrench for its ingenuity in creating the industry’s first 5-degree ratcheting wrench with four different sizes in a single wrench. The hosts also liked the fact that the Quadbox helps eliminate clutter in the toolbox by replacing up to eight traditional combination wrenches.
