LAS VEGAS (October 30, 2007) - GearWrench® today announced the introduction of its Indexing Pry Bar line at the 2007 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. Best known for its groundbreaking ratcheting wrench designs, GearWrench also announced the following product extensions: X-Beam™ Reversible, X-Beam Flex, QuadBox™ Extension, and Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench.

Indexing Pry Bars

The Indexing Pry Bar comes in six sizes ranging from 8" to 33" in length. The head of the pry bars can be adjusted to 14 different positions, offering more than 180 degrees of angle. The new innovative indexing feature allows the user to gain more leverage when working on tight access applications. The GearWrench 8" Indexing Pry Bar can also function as a seal pick for removing engine and axle drive seals. The 24 and 33" pry bars have a grooved bottom surface for added traction. In addition to the fixed length Indexing Pry Bars, an expandable version is available that extends from 18 to 29" and features the 14 position indexing head.

Hand Tool Product Extensions At-a-Glance

X-Beam Reversible and X-Beam Flex Ratcheting Wrenches
Recognized for developing the patented 5-degree ratcheting mechanism, GearWrench now offers X-Beam Reversible and X-Beam Flex Ratcheting Wrenches. X-Beam Reversible offers a reversible lever that allows users to alternate from loosening to tightening motions without flipping the wrench over. The unique 15-degree offset provides clearance for users’ hands. The X-Beam Flex Wrench features a flex hinge on the box end of the wrench allowing users to adjust the offset angle when working in tight spaces. One end of the X-Beam wrench is forged at a 90-degree angle from the other end, and the tapered handle is thicker on both sides than a standard wrench. An independent test conducted on behalf of the Arthritis Foundation yielded a favorable review of the X-Beam and its acceptance as the first hand tool in the organization's Ease-of-Use commendation program.

Quadbox

In 2006, GearWrench introduced the 4-in-1 Quadbox ratcheting wrench, the hand tool industry’s first 5-degree ratcheting wrench with four different sizes on a single wrench. The set of two QuadBox wrenches replaced up to eight traditional combination wrenches. GearWrench developed an extension to the product line by adding one additional wrench and two additional metric wrenches. Users now have the option of 16 different sizes in four easy-to-carry wrenches. QuadBox fits into tight spaces and helps speed and productivity.

Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench

The new Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench from GearWrench is designed for the unique needs of technicians in the heavy truck, industrial, agricultural and petrochemical industries where larger size wrenches are commonly required. Utilizing GearWrench’s patented 5-degree ratcheting technology, the "jumbo" size will cover 1-7/16" to 2" in SAE and from 36mm to 50mm in Metric.
